Went a little playful with color tonight using some soft pastel (~3 hours)

Finished this 2-weeks (~6 hours) life portrait with brown-toned derwent drawing pencils:

This is one model that I really enjoy drawing since her facial features is quite a classic beauty anatomically balanced:

And this week, I’m trying to practice drawing with a little more perspective, since that is one of my weak point. Also a little bit of cleaner contours:


After some very concentrated time of drawing, I did a quick lose 15 minutes figure with a few colored pencil:

A solid understanding of human anatomy is very very important to make good 3d characters, so I have been going to the open sessions at Palette and Chisel to practice some life drawings. Here are some of the drawings I did in both long sessions and quick sketches sessions:

And of course, I also use my own hands and my dogs to practice more at home:
